A Salon

Located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, we specialize in cuts, color, and a variety of special services ranging from blow-outs and up-dos to keratin treatments.

An exhibit

Historically, a salon was a place for likeminded people to discuss art, literature and other creative pursuits. We're proud to feature a rotating gallery of different artists.

 A Destination

We support our community through events that directly benefit local businesses, charities, and artists. Come join us and become part of what we do.

Our Featured Artist

                                                                                                Marshall LaCount

Marshall LaCount's Quieter Places paintings are a collective approach to places quieter than the city; quieter than a mind treading in traumas; quieter than political despondency. These Quieter Places are beyond certain borders. They are elsewhere, for they are not places, they are images. In this case, they are images constructed by aching hands and sore arms which have managed to pull away from other work, made in less quiet places.  Plaster is shaped alongside acrylic paint, wallboard, spray paint. Graffiti and the constant buffing of graffiti get a nod. The works are playful: primary colors occupy measured spaces in largely white fields of textured plaster. This play is a renegotiating of borders.

Our Last Artist

                                    William Frey

Imprints and Maladies, is an exhibition of Brooklyn based self-taught artist, Billy Frey’s, recent acrylic paintings that explore our human sense of facial memory, how faces become imprinted within the conscious and unconscious mind, what they represent as well as their potential origins.  Which faces were seen in real life and which represent aspects of the artist's own psychological/emotional and creative struggles.  Frey experiemented with painting in differing levels of light and chose to paint this series in a state of near darkness, in order to activate and engage the recesses of his facial memory with shadow and low light.  This method worked to allow the many different faces to appear on the paper before him, often with minimal amounts of paint.  This collection includes works as large as 3' x 5' and as small as 9" x 12".  Join us for the opening on May 25th to engage in this painted journey through the ups and downs of the human experience expressed through the most recognizable shape in the animal kingdom, the face.

Our next artist

                                   Amber Maykut

It’s no secret that Exhibit loves our furry friends (check out our IG hashtag #dogsofexhibitsalon), which is why we’re thrilled to welcome back Brooklyn-based taxidermist Amber Maykut. She wowed us with her painstakingly crafted (and ethically sourced) pieces when she participated in the 2015 group show Cabinet en Curio; her work is dynamic, humorous, and just plain gorgeous. Check out her story and more of her one-of-a-kind taxidermy at www.brooklyntaxidermy.com
