On Friday November 4th, from 7pm-10pm we will be partying with Joaquin Ballen and all of the other usual suspects.
Joaquin Ballen is a Brooklyn, New York artist born in Mendoza Argentina who spent his early years living between Argentina and Spain. While studying maths and physics for astronomy in college in San Juan Argentina, he started drawing and sketching as a past-time, his initial drawings being influenced by maths and geometry. In his work of over 18 years, since his moving to New York in 2001, Ballen has used recycled materials for his paintings assemblages, and installations. Works include paintings on backs of posters, old canvas, mirror, glass and old discarded windows, with acrylic, oils, inks and graphite, and span the abstract to the dark Gothic, to New York City inspiration.
So come check out his work and enjoy free drinks, snacks provided by Greenpoint Meat&Cheese, and some other entertaining surprises as well!
