Emmaline Payette (b. 1987) is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Emmaline’s artistic vision is rooted in her academic background in Environmental Anthropology. She uses recycled materials and living plants to create installations that explore the interconnectedness of culture and ecology. Beyond her studio and installation practice, her work relies on direct engagement: from reaching out to her immediate community for recycled materials to seed bombing vacant lots. Emmaline is also embedding her work directly into the broader human environment by tattooing stick drawings by hand onto humans, creating a distinct network. Recently, Emmaline has shown work with Sunday Sessions at MoMA PS1, SVA and NARS Foundation.
Exhibit Salon is also proud to announce our partnership with Greencircle Salons. Through this partnership and recycling initiative we will now be able to recycle up to 95% of our daily salon waste which would otherwise end up in landfill. This includes but is not limited to used foils, saran wrap, color tubes, aerosol cans, excess color, old electronics and even HAIR!
At this event we would love to extend that opportunity to you! Please feel free to bring items from your home that are not accepted by NYC recycling. This includes items such as aerosol cans, batteries, plastic grocery bags, lightbulbs, and small electronics! If you have any questions on what to bring please reach out to us!
