Jocelyn Wood

Stylist/ Colorist

How and why did you start doing hair?

I started fucking around with my little cousins hair/my hair/anyone who would let me touch their hair when I was in middle school. It was my guidance counselor my senior year of highschool that suggested cosmetology school after she cried when I told her I wasn't interested in traditional college.  Thanks, Yuan Yuan Chen!

If you could do hair for any famous person, living or dead, whom would it be?

Bettie Page.

Who is your personal style icon?

I took a Buzzfeed quiz titled - "Who is Your Style Icon" and it said Kate Moss. "You love mixing girly stuff with tougher pieces like leather jackets or biker boots. But no matter how hard your edge, there's always something super sexy in everything you do."

Then I took the same quiz posted by PopSugar and it said Rhianna - "Fashion rules are made to be broken, and you rock a cool-girl style with the confidence of a true trendsetter (but one who's not trying to be a trendsetter, of course). You'd opt for distressed jeans and a vintage t-shirt over a dress any day of the week, and much like Rihanna's edgy aesthetic, you feel your best in leather pants, mesh tops, and studded sneakers."

If you could go back in time and live in any time period, in which period would you choose to live?

Definitely the 50s/60s. The aesthetic of EVERYTHING in that time period is not comparable to anything else. Plus it was when women REALLY stared getting into styling their hair and pushing boundaries.

If you we an alcoholic beverage, what would you be?

A shot of tequila.

If you could bring one album with you to a desert island, which would you bring?

Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger.
