Stylist / Colorist
How and why did you start doing hair?
It was a calling I couldn’t resist! No - but seriously - I was a tomboy growing up. I had tools; not Barbie’s, but I still made my childhood friends let me curl their hair. When i was 15, I got my first job at a salon as a receptionist and continued on that path over the years at two other salons during High School and College. I've always been drawn to hair styling and have always been interested in knowing more, especially about color formulation. I used to joke that I became a hair stylist because it was the only job that allowed me to get paid for judging people that came in… which I guess is true, but my clients know I'm judgmental because I love being creative and making people feel better about themselves, which ultimately brings their confidence out.
